Assistant Pastor

What Reid's References say:

"He approaches conflict with a pastoral heart that is solution-focused and wants to bring resolution, reconciliation, and repentance. He can look at issues and break them down into manageable pieces."

"You know a Christian by their fruit, and you know a gatherer by their group. He knows how to get people in the right places to reach out to people and bring them in."

"He's patient, listens well, and he's slow to speak but not someone who doesn't speak."

"Reid deeply understands the gospel and it influences everything he does. He loves Jesus and that spills out into his love for other people."

"Good at empowering leaders in various spheres, and good at training leaders and volunteers."

WELCOME REID JONES!

We are thrilled to report that after a thorough search we unanimously recommended Reid Jones to our Session as our next Adult Discipleship Pastor. The Session joyfully voted to extend a call to Reid, and he accepted.
Who is Reid Jones?

Many of you already know Reid from his current calling as RUF campus minister at Clemson University, where he has served for six years. After completing a Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC, Reid served as an Assistant Pastor at Jordan Presbyterian Church in West Jordan, Utah for two years, followed by five years as RUF campus minister at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, AL.

Reid possesses unique giftings in administration, relational ministry, and leadership development. He has a proven record of success in growing and overseeing multiple facets of ministry. Most importantly, he has a heart for people and a desire to see them grow as Jesus’ disciples.

Reid has complete buy-in on the CPC vision of an equipped disciple. He values and demonstrates creating a community environment where disciple making can happen. Multiple references confirmed Reid’s character, qualifications, and gifting and that he is excellent fit for this role.

What next?

The Credentials Committee of Calvary Presbytery met last night (March 27, 2023), and approved recommending Reid’s call at the next Presbytery meeting on April 27th.

Reid’s start date is yet to be determined, but will be sometime this summer.

The Campus Ministry Committee of our Presbytery will begin a search for the next Campus Minister of Clemson RUF. Please join us in praying for that process.

We look forward to welcoming Reid, his wife Kelli, and their girls Lucy and Jordan into this new role. May God be glorified by Reid’s ministry as our Adult Discipleship Pastor!
